Guang-Zhong Sun is now an associate professor in the School of Computer Science, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He is also a member of National High Performance Computing Center at Hefei. He is a member of ACM, IEEE, SIAM and a senior member of China Computer Federation (CCF). He received his B.Eng. degree and Ph.D. degrees from University of Science and Technology of China in 2000 and 2005, respectively. As a visiting researcher, he has been working in Intel China Research Center (ICRC) from July 2006 to Dec. 2006, Microsoft Research Asia (MSRA) in from Oct. 2007 to August 2008 and from Sep. 2010 to Feb. 2011.


Guang-Zhong Sun has received over 15 research grants, which are supported by National Natural Foundation of China(NSFC), Microsoft, Intel and Huawei. With main research interests in high performance computing, algorithms, he has published more than 60 papers in academic journals and conferences. He is also the co-author of two translation books.


Guang-Zhong Sun has been the coach of ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM ICPC) teams in USTC since 2002. He received outstanding teaching award of Anhui province in 2009 and he was also the co-recipient of the 2009 National Education Award on parallel computing courses.
